About The Boy & The Bear - Coffee Roastery
THE BLUE STORE – A LOVE FOR COLOR The Boy & The Bear – Gardena, CA
Most of our spaces are shaped by Colombian roots, Nordic minimalism, or a blend of both. But this one started with something simpler… just a color.
We came across this deep, muted blue on a regular day. It was part of something we picked up for personal use, nothing special. But the moment we saw it, it sparked something. There was a calmness, a sense of depth, that felt both peaceful and just beautiful. That single tone became our anchor. From there, we created a family of blues, one slightly lighter, one slightly darker.

Tried the strawberry matcha latte and really enjoyed it! The sweetness was just right—not too sweet—and you can definitely taste the quality of the ingredients. Everything looked so fresh and delicious, especially the pastries. I’ll definitely be back to try them next time! ☕️🍓

Made a trip out to South Bay just to get coffee with my cousin and the closest non-Starbucks location to her was Nook at the Enclave, but that line was ridiculous. I've had Nook, I would not wait in a line out the door for it. Next closest coffee spot was Boy & the Bear five minutes away. It's almost kind of easy to miss because the building looks like it could have been an old medical office from the 60's or 70's and it's painted this sterile blue color, so keep an eye out for the corner of 180th and Western. We parked in their lot off of Western which has a few spots but we were able to snag one and there's plenty of street parking. We both ordered a vanilla latte and added caramel. Mine had half caramel and her's had full caramel. The iced coffee was SMOOTH. No bitterness, not too much artificial sweetener (they make their vanilla syrup in house). I'm a fan of Hidden House in Santa Ana and Portola in O.C. and this is on par with that. They also roast their own beans in house and I believe I saw instant coffee packets for sale and some smaller bags of coffee for sale in the front. Inside, the decor is giving operating theater with the room in the middle showcasing the roaster and

So far I am searching for the BEST coffee shop rather near or far even online. I try Atlas’s Coffee online and I CANCEL my subscription after trying The Boy& The Bear in Gardena; I LOVE cold coffee cause I make my own at home and I like it dark roast with half&half(yes and sugar), but this time I have try it without the sugar and WOW I can really taste the COFFEE didn’t get the server’s name, but after a sample I brought the black box one. People I don’t normally give a lengthy review, but go and try it. IF there’s are better places please let me know and I will buy YOU the next coffee (Only if I like it)

So grateful this coffee shop is right down the road from me! It’s unique; I absolutely love the blue color and decor they chose for this location. The strawberry matcha was great, it definitely tasted authentic. And their cinnamon roll was aaamazing, I never tried one without icing before but it was a pleasant surprise. It was easy to find parking on the street, not sure why someone else said it was difficult. This will be my go-to coffee shop & can’t wait to bring my friends!
